If you’re still managing and analyzing your data manually, stop. The robots are now smart enough to do this for you and you can make better use of your time, e.g. B. Using AI-generated insights from your data to make big, profitable decisions.

Business Development Intelligence Tools Comparison

Business intelligence (BI) software uses APIs, automation, AI, and other tools to simplify the process of data compilation, organization, analysis, and visualization. It collects data and basically does everything except the actual decision making for you.

The Generative Ai Tools Landscape

There are hundreds of platforms that market themselves as BI or BI-adjacent tools, but not all of them help you gain actionable insights from your data while remaining accessible to companies of all sizes. I spent several weeks testing dozens of BI tools, and based on my research and the time I spent testing the platforms, these eight stood out from the rest.

All of our roundups of the best apps are written by people who have spent much of their careers using, testing, and writing about software. We spend dozens of hours researching and testing apps, using each app the way it’s intended to be used, and evaluating them based on the criteria we’ve established for the category. We are never paid for placement in our articles on an app or for links to a website – we value readers’ trust in us to provide authentic reviews of the categories and apps we review. For more details on our process, see the full overview of how we select apps to feature on the blog.

To test these business intelligence tools, I created an account with each platform, imported sample data, and tested key features such as data source linking, record linking, visualization and dashboard creation, and AI-generated insights.

Using the criteria mentioned above, extensive research into these apps and my findings from testing them, I have selected the eight best business intelligence software solutions here.

What Is Business Intelligence (bi): Complete Implementation

Datapine’s reviews alone were enough for me to suspect that it would deserve a spot on this list, and the test only confirmed my hypothesis.

I was particularly impressed by the platform’s “Smart Insights” tab. You’ll be greeted by a series of written insights into your data, as well as annotated charts that reflect those insights. Divided by category, they include tabs for growth and forecast, value drivers, key segments, outliers, correlations, and even interactive what-if scenarios that allow you to see how results would be affected if certain factors changed .

I also found the app’s dashboards to be very flexible (and almost…fun?). You can drag charts anywhere on a dashboard and they are highly customizable. Customize fonts, colors, gradients, drop shadows, titles and subtitles, and even add hundreds of fun icons to your dashboard. Certain visualizations, including maps, provide interactivity, allowing you to zoom in on specific areas for a closer look at your data.

When creating a new data visualization, you can implement various conditional formatting options. For example, you can assign meaning to colors, gradients, and more so that they reflect a quality, such as: B. Values or fixed limits.

What Is Data Analytics? Transforming Data Into Better Decisions

The app also integrates AI and intelligent forecasts. You can enable notifications that detect anomalies in the data and tracking of your KPIs and notify you of any changes. You can even customize charts to predict how your data will evolve over time.

There are other great features, including sharing dashboards with colleagues, automating reports to be sent on a specific schedule, and more – but you get the idea. datapine is a premium BI app that will almost certainly cover all your bases.

Admittedly, as a fairly comprehensive premium option, Datapine has a really high price compared to many other BI software options. Make sure you need all the features before spending the money.

If you’re a solopreneur looking for a free BI tool to help you manage and analyze your data, Zoho Analytics is for you. The Personal plan lets you download the platform for free on your local server and access some powerful features that many BI tools charge for – conversational AI, unlimited reports, predictive analytics, and more.

What Is Digital Experience Analytics? The Complete Guide

Not everyone can (or wants) to be a BI expert. Even for beginners in the masses, Zoho Analytics is one of the easiest options to learn. It offers simple instructions and demo videos to get you started, and the interface is simple enough to navigate without much learning.

I used Zoho’s AI assistant Zia over the other apps in its suite of tools, but for me it was still the most impressive part of the app. Not only did Zia generate a formula to manipulate my data exactly how I needed it, but it was also able to perform predictive analytics based on natural language. I asked what my sales would be at a given point in time and it produced a written and graphical breakdown of its forecast.

Zoho products are known for their relatively outdated interface, but in the case of BI software, that doesn’t matter. Most platforms in this category haven’t quite nailed the sleek, modern interface of the mid-2020s, so Zoho fits right in there.

While it integrates seamlessly with other Zoho apps, if you can’t find the integration you need in the Zoho suite, Zoho Analytics integrates with, opening the door to countless automations. Drive leads from your ads tool directly into Zoho or connect it to your favorite spreadsheet app to automatically import your newly entered data.

Best Business Development Tools To Close Deals In 2023

Domo shines all around as a great BI tool, so it was hard to decide which superlative it deserves most. Overall, I found it to be an incredibly solid option for all your data management needs.

For one, it supports more data connectors than any other platform I tested, with over 440. And you’ll almost certainly find the APIs you need to get the job done in your own app store.

Once you connect your data to the platform, managing it is just as easy. The Magic ETL tool features a drag-and-drop interface and allows you to prepare your data for analysis, establish relationships in your data, and automate data filtering without requiring any SQL knowledge. You can also perform calculations on your data using the app’s Beast Mode feature.

Aside from these whimsically named data management and manipulation features, I was amazed at how quickly the app loaded. Whether I opened a sample dataset to look at the raw data or created a new dashboard with custom insights, it took a few seconds at most to load.

What Is Business Intelligence? Definition And Faqs

As someone who has used Microsoft Word and Excel for over a decade, Microsoft Power BI seemed incredibly familiar to me. The interface is laid out very similarly to other Microsoft products – similar icons, similar menu placement and everything in between. I found this very helpful when using the app, as BI software in general has a notoriously steep learning curve.

It’s not just the layout that makes this app great for those experienced with Microsoft’s suite of tools. Integrations with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams are just a click or two away in the top menu bar. This allows you to import data from Excel spreadsheets into Power BI, export data visualizations from Power BI to PowerPoint, and more.

Additionally, the app integrates natively with Power Automate, Microsoft’s platform for connecting and automating hundreds of software (including virtually all of Microsoft’s apps). Like many other Microsoft apps, the platform offers both desktop and web-based versions.

Apart from all these advantages related to Microsoft integration, I found the app to be very intuitive. Without performing any manual data modeling or connection drawing, the platform automatically recognized that two of my data sets were connected. Once this connection was established, a change to one automatically affected the other.

Five Facts About Value Chain Analysis Every Transfer Pricing Professional Should Know

I also appreciate the app’s query editor, which tracks all historical changes to data.
